34 thoughts on “Crackdown in Xinjiang: Why Most Muslims Are Siding with China

  1. You are correct about the Muslim re-education/ Communist camps in China. They have for decades tried to subvert Christianity activity as well. Not that I’m a Christian but when a Communist Revolution takes place within a country the first thing they do is to kill off the Religious leaders and structures. Just like the Bolshevik/Marxist Russian Revolution of 1917. 66 million deaths from 1917-1927.

It is an established fact that Chinese Communist core doctrine by definition hates and opposes all religious beliefs and the extermination of any and all religion other than complete obligation to the state.
They kill ppl all the time for transgressions against their Communist hierarchy.
I’m not trying to overwhelm anyone. If you need links to what have I stated let me know.

  2. Rare look Inside China internment camps holding over 1 million Muslims YouTube 4:52 CBS news this looks real to me I was speaking about this on line 2yr ago

  3. Much appreciated (for trusting me) – and thank you again.

Just depositing some related articles here for anyone’s interest and archives:

It may be appropriate to read this one first to get a balanced view and to remove any suspicion of stereotyping.

Xinjiang and Uyghurs — What You’re Not Being Told (by The Corporate/Corrupt Western Media) – – World Affairs via Worldtruth blog

“Now, let’s break down the facts. There are four types of Uyghur Muslims:
    1. Well-educated Uyghurs who are moderate/secular Muslims
    2. Poor and lower middle-class Uyghurs
    3. Nomads
    4. Separatists and terrorists”

China’s Uyghur Problem — The Unmentioned Part – F. William Engdahl – New Eastern Outlook

China and the Uyghurs – Godfree Roberts – The Unz Review

But here is perhaps the most topical article

SYRIA: Sultan Erdogan’s Secret Weapon, Elite Squads of Chinese Uyghur Mercenaries – – 21st Century Wire

… and this by Vanessa Beeley

Atrocities by terrorists against Syrian children ignored by Western media covering conflict from comfort of offices elsewhere – Vanessa Beeley

Eyewitnesses have reported that some of the most brutal, cold-blooded atrocities have been committed by the Uyghur extremists brought in by Turkey [Erdogan] – up to 20,000 (5,000 fighters plus families) holed up in Idlib from past reports. These are the people Erdogan is most desperate to protect at any cost.

And it is not surprising to hear Trump back Turkey unconditionally and for the US to call for Russia to self-impose a no-fly zone over this terrorist enclave which has effectively been holding up to 1.5 million people hostage for the past several years.

  4. Thank you for taking the time to peruse and respond, Lenna.

Aah – Rita Katz – what an interesting background she has – and how conveniently positioned she was to be the primary conduit for all those ‘terrorist’ videos. And what fancy long names these terrorists make up for their ‘institutes’.

Interestingly, I have an Uzbek neighbour – we exchange fruit, vegetables, honey and anecdotes. Naturally, he too is an Erdogan fan and detests the “godless” Chinese. We have to tread carefully on certain topics.

I once asked him about Fethullah Gulen and his answer was a curt “freemason!“ and wished to change the subject.

Much more to discuss – in time. Thanks again.

  5. Hi again Lenna – please bear in mind that anything I post has an implicit question mark at the end – I am only interested in what is true – I have no ideology.

As a topical subject, Rebiya Kadeer comes to mind. I read that she is actually a billionaire (from her textile business) and was at one time a sitting member in the Chinese Government.

My Uzbek friend has lent me her book “Dragon Fighter” but I must admit that I haven’t read much past the Prologue yet. I understand that it is written from a certain ‘perspective’ and look forward to reading it for that very reason.

Something about her story ‘irks’ me, though

Her book happens to be promoted here [the National Endowment of Democracy – NED – has been at the very centre of instigating the unrest in Hong Kong recently, and “also played a major role in the Tiananmen Square clashes in 1989” – but I must not digress here]:

“”Ms. Kadeer is Director of the International Uyghur Human Rights and Democracy Foundation, which has received NED support since 2005. In addition, she serves on the Boards of Directors of the Uyghur American Association and the World Uyghur Congress, which also receive NED support for their work to advocate for the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of Uyghurs in China. Ms. Kadeer’s autobiography, Dragon Fighter, One Woman’s Epic Struggle for Peace with China, was published in May 2009.

This 53-minute documentary was written and directed by Jeff Daniels and produced by John Lewis. NED and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission are grateful to the filmmakers for their kind permission to screen the film.”

One commenter in one of the videos I posted earlier wrote

“Rebiya was arrested in 1999 for crimes against national security. One year later, she was sentenced to 8 years in prison for illegally providing state intelligence to overseas organizations. In 2005, Rebiya was allowed to seek medical treatment outside [?in] the United States [?sic]. Before she went abroad, she repeatedly promised that she would no longer participate in any activities that endanger China’s national security, but she joined the “Xinjiang independence” activity as soon as she arrived in the United States.”

Could it be that that the forces propagating the Xinjiang separative narrative wish to repeat the Yugoslavia/Kosovo experience and build a ‘Camp Bondsteel’ type military base in Xinjiang as a wedge between China and Russia and thus disrupt the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.

Oh, on a lighter note– I mentioned the Twelve Muqam earlier – here is a link for some background and more information.

  6. I thought this was topical – I don’t know if you are aware of Sheikh Imran Hosein. I catch him from time to time and he always makes agreeable sense.

Sheikh Hosein certainly doesn’t hold back on Erdogan/Turkey. (The other three parts are of a broader talk and are the prior videos on his channel.)

Turkey’s Tattered Islamic Credentials: Part 4 of 4

  7. I regard Sheikh Imran Hosein as a genuinely good and wise man.

    These words come to mind:

When all the stars are falling down
Into the sea and on the ground,
And angry voices carry on the wind,
A beam of light will fill your head
And you’ll remember what’s been said
By all the good men this world’s ever known.

  8. Thank you for allowing me to share, Lenna – please take your time. I merely accumulate by listening to and reading others.

I had heard of that downvoting bot and saw evidence of it affecting other commenters but had no idea I may have been targeted – I wouldn’t know what my profile looks like! I am certainly aware, however, that Disqus (allegedly) has quite a bank of bogus accounts up their sleeve (the pattern has been quite transparent and comical) – almost all of which have only posted a few times, typically 3-4-5 years ago and which promote the exchange of pornographic pics (link in their profile) – that’s their style. They actually like to UPvote me. I used to report and block them – now I just block then – I have quite a few hundred ‘Disqus Guests’ 😊

  9. I agree. It’s remarkable how ISIS only attacks Israel’s enemies in the Middle East and never attacks Israel.

It’s also remarkable how ISIS drives Arabs out of the ‘Greater Israel’ region into the West – where Israel is officially stationed in Greece welcoming them.

Not to mention the fact that Israel gives medical aid and refuge to ISIS fighters on its border.

And even more remarkable that ISIS once apologised to the state of Israel after firing into the occupied Golan Heights by accident.

    To find who rules you..

  10. Yes! What you just said… hear, hear! Yes, those fake disqus sock accounts all are idle, with like 1 or 2 posts 3-5 years ago and typically their tagline for the account is something like “wAnt hot SEX with pRetTy ladies? then go here…” I’ve seen these accounts recruited to even thumb me up sometimes. Not sure what’s goin’ on there. But thank you for noticing same and mentioning it. Hey, have you had issues loading your disqus page or disqus comments sections the last month? I have and have had to do hops through various proxies to post at all. Figured out now my disqus page, and disqus dot com maybe too, got delisted from various DNS lookup servers. Changing to DNS-over-HTTPS with cloudflare as DNS lookup server fixed the issue.

  11. Hi inti – one of my rare appearances, hope you are ok.
Things looking a bit brighter here but a long long way to go.
Lots of talk about this Covid thing here and it is all over the news – like a 1 hr BBC PM radio News devoted to this one topic.
With all the hand cleaning and telling people not to sneeze openly I think it will save thousands of lives from the annual winter FLU! – which kills about 10,000 some years.
So far this new flu has killed just 2 people in GB.
Some of the headlines are scary – like this one-

” UK has plans to deal with pandemic causing up to 315,000 deaths”
Thanks for your prayers for my family and best wishes.

  12. Good morning dear June,
How are you and your family?
The Covid-19 is shaking the entire world. it looks like it will take a long time to find a killer drug. The best we can do is to protect ourselves in the best manner possible, starting with decreased meetings with strangers, avoiding public places, and using the right Mask, alcohol to disinfect our hands, avoid touching our face, and eating out…
I am glad to know that your family is recuperating for the difficult time.
I continue to pray for everyone i know and those i don’t know, particularly for the young people and the children who are suffering.

I wish all the best for all your family and you.

  13. Hello S4L – in reference to a comment that briefly appeared on 21C and was removed – I just wanted to share this with you.

Youtube took down my favourite interview with theGrand Mufti of Syria, Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun

    • Interview with Grand Mufti of Syria (Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun) – Press TV – Ireland by Roshan Muhammed Salih

That interview occurred in Ireland – he was destined for Italy to receive a peace prize that he was awarded but because of the positive publicity for promoting peace he was denied a visa – if anyone finds a copy I would love to receive the link.

The Grand Mufti of Syria is a very articulate and gently spoken man who tells us what has really been happening in Syria, particularly around the time that the terrorists were driven out of Aleppo.

Here is another video featuring the Grand Mufti, not as good, but you get to hear the man speak.
    • Exclusive Interview with H.E. Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, Grand Mufti of Syria

Another interview with Dr Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, Grand Mufti of Syria which delivers a very powerful message of tolerance and peace. (Father Dave was visiting from Australia.)

    • Father Dave interviews the Grand Mufti of Syria – Dr Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun

  14. I hope you don’t mind me sharing this here but I thought you might be interested in the latest interview with President Bashar al Assad of Syria. It is current and topical on several fronts.

    • Syrian President Assad speaks to Russia 24 (subtitles)

It covers a broad range of questions and in particular President Assad’s response to questions about Erdogan and his Muslim Brotherhood affiliation – Assad: “It is well-known that the Muslim Brotherhood were the first organisation to endorse violence and use religion to gain power.“

Assad pleads to the Turkish people to understand that there is no animosity between the peoples – he points out that there are many mixed marriages either side of the border and that they should be able to, and indeed need to coexist as constructive neighbours. He points out that Erdogan cannot explain to his own people what Syria has done against the Turkish people and why Erdogan continues to support the terrorists on Syrian soil.

If you haven’t followed the situation in Syria closely you might not notice the consistency of President Assad over this past decade and more.

Also, another way to be introduced to the true character and spirit of Syria is to listen to a couple of talks/interviews with the First Lady Mrs Asma al Assad.

I leave these links for your archives and for your selective perusal at your leisure.

Mrs Asma al Assad, First Lady of Syria – “The Lioness of Damascus”

    • Asma Al-Assad during the reception made to the participants in ” Woman For Peace ” Bicycle Ride

    • I love Asma Al Assad

Mrs Asma al Assad was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2018 …

    • Our prayers are with you, Mrs Asma Assad

Her first major interview after treatment and being cleared of the cancer – it is in Arabic so I would go full screen and read the subtitles. You won’t be disappointed. Talk about stoicism, morality and gratitude – Asma is the essence of grace and dignity!!

    • Asma al Assad tells of her struggle against cancer

    Syrian President Bashar al Assad

I have selected several interviews over the period 2006 to 2019 (and now 2020 as above).

    • Assad Pre War interview 2006, consistent as ever (60 Minutes)

    • Maria Finoshina (of RT) interviews President Bashar al-12 April 2016

    Att 6:56

Maria: “You call them terrorists but at the same time you treat them as human beings. You tell them – you have a chance to go back to your normal life.”

President Assad: “Exactly, they are terrorists because they are holding machine guns, they kill, they destroy, they commit vandalism and so on. And that is natural – everywhere in the world that is called as terrorism. But at the same time they are human who committed terrorism. They could be something else. They joined the terrorists for different reasons, either out of fear, for the money, sometimes for the ideology – so if you can bring them back to their normal life – to be natural citizens, that’s […?our job? …] as government. It’s not enough to say we are going to fight terrorists. Fighting terrorists is like a video game – you can destroy your enemy in the video game but the video game will generate and regenerate thousands of enemies. So you cannot deal with it on the American way, just killing, just killing – that’s not our goal. So the last option you have – if you can change – this is a good option – and it succeeded because many of those terrorists when they change their position, some of them living normal life and some of them joined the Syrian Army

The following is an interview with President Assad with the very hostile NBC– one of the most revealing and frank by President Assad who is being more than polite.

    • Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad: Exclusive Interview | NBC Nightly News

It is worth perusing the comments on the above NBC video – EVERYBODY (who is informed) knows the truth about what has been going on in Syria.

    • Bashar al-Assad speaks to Swiss television – October 2016

    • Assad’s exclusive interview with Kathimerini (May 2018)

    • Interview with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad | Rt International (11 November 2019)

    • Assad interview Rai News 24 doesn’t want you to watch (09 December 2019)

This recent interview with President Assad by Monica Maggioni of the Italian Rai News 24 was even banned from airing on its own network.

    One of the comments reads

“The American government banned their media from interviewing president Assad, they told them it’s because he’ll fool the American people into believing him …“

Added 18 February 2020 – uploaded by Vanessa Beeley.
    • President Assad addresses the nation after historic full liberation of Aleppo – English subtitles (18 February 2020)

  15. Thank you for the article and opportunity to contribute, Lenna. I haven’t read all the comments and links yet so I will just post this one-minute item.

Xinjiang religious leader: U.S. should get facts straight

“We in Xinjiang live as freely as fish in the sea. We see our livelihood improve in every way. What US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said of Xinjiang was far from fact. […] We wrote a letter to him explaining the truth on all his claims … We got no reply.“

  16. This is from your CNN article:

The language in the letter echoed previous claims made by China, which
has denied allegations of torture or forced political indoctrination in Xinjiang
and said that the camps were “vocational training centers” designed to fight
    terrorism and combat Islamic extremism.

There you go. In fact, the CNN article you provided made it crystal clear that
the reason for those Muslim countries siding with China was for economic

  17. @mark_mark5454:disqus

    Hello Mark, how are you?
Are you prepared for the Covid19, just in case it spreads further?
Here where I am, they run out of Mask and antiseptics, etc. We are fortunately that this country has the paper making factories and many of them , we also have a lot of water, in that area we are OK. I had also purchased a load of alcohol 99% about two months before the outbreak of the Covid 19.
    Please keep in touch.

  18. Really?
I strongly believe that the Filipinos, as many other countries like China with their Buddhist idiots, along with the super wealthy Dalai Lama, good for nothing else than to spread Hate against Muslims.

““They are forcing the detainees to renounce their religion, renounce their culture, renounce their identity, force them to speak Mandarin,” said Kanat, who also serves as the chairman of the World Uyghur Congress’ Executive Committee and advocates for an independent Uighur state. “They are forcing them to say there is no God, there is only the Communist Party.”

    Deported to China and ‘disappeared’

“According to the report, China is pressuring the governments of Egypt, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan and Thailand to deport Uighurs back to China. There is no information about these peoples’ “whereabouts,” the report said.

“Chinese citizens considered as being what authorities call “subversive” minorities are in danger of disappearing “indefinitely” should they be deported back to China, it continued. These groups include Uighurs and Tibetans.

**Edited, it was my error, no one edited my comment. 🙂

  19. Today’s topical reading …

“I’m not interested in the philosophy or morality of biological warfare,” Tina said. “Right now I just want to know how the hell Danny wound up in this place.”

“To understand that,” Dombey said, “you have to go back twenty months. It was around then that a Chinese scientist named Li Chen defected to the United States, carrying a diskette record of China’s most important and dangerous: new biological weapon in a decade. They call the stuff ‘Wuhan-400’ because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan, and it was the four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at that research center.

Wuhan-400 is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can’t survive outside a living human body for longer than a minute, which means it can’t permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can. And when the host expires, the Wuhan-400 within him perishes a short while later, as soon as the temperature of the corpse drops below eighty-six degrees Fahrenheit. Do you see the advantage of all this?”

Eyes of Darkness – Dean Koontz (1981)
(Originally published under the pseudonym Leigh Nichols)

It would be interesting to get a full bio of Koontz/Nichols and compare it with the likes of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley …

Oh – and just before that passage

“The problem is that some flaky people are attracted to this kind of work because of the secrecy and because you really do get a sense of power from designing weapons that can kill millions of people.“

  20. Of course – I accept that Turkey is not the primary driving force – but their complicity is palpable, by facilitating the flow of terrorists and of stolen oil into and out of Syria. Was it not Erdogan’s son who profited the most from the stolen oil channelled out of Syria by ISIS – just as Hunter Biden did in the context of the Ukraine? And if one has followed the saga of the infamous terrorist-aligned “White Helmets” – their main base for training and infiltration into Syria has been openly in Turkey. How ironic that their founder James Le Mesurier recently met his death (reportedly) in Turkey.

  21. Thank you Lenna. When a topic like this comes to our attention, I like to research from both sides. With the Uyghurs, what I discovered was a people whose own culture, heritage and history is to be celebrated, just like any other group around the globe.

I found the musical tradition of the Twelve Muqam most interesting. I have various links describing its role in Uyghur culture. I found it particularly noteworthy that

China officially regards and preserves the music in Xinjiang as a “living fossil”

From the question of propaganda, here are some relevant videos from my own dossier – I like to hear all sides.

True story in Xinjiang: alleged ‘missing’ people found safe and sound (2:45)

CGTN’s exclusive interview with reportedly missing Uygur (2:59)

CGTN Exclusive: Western propaganda on Xinjiang ‘camps’ rebutted (4:02)

Fighting terrorism in Xinjiang (50-minute special production)

Some articles to follow if you don’t mind …

  22. Indeed. Rita Katz co-founded Israeli group SITE (Search for International Terrorist Entities) which cohencidentally happens to often be the first to find and publicly release Hollywood-style ‘ISIS videos’.

ISIS is then used as the excuse to station never-ending American troops in the Middle East as per the aims laid out by PNAC in its 2000 report: “Rebuilding America’s Defences: Strategies, Forces and Resources for a New Century”, which also called for many of Israel’s perceived enemies to be attacked.

Rita Katz also publicises ‘Islamic terrorism’ in other ways. For example she heavily promoted the persona of Joshua Goldberg who was posing as the jihadist ‘Australi Witness’ online. Among other things, Goldberg gave specific information on how to manufacture a bomb targeting a 911 memorial event to an FBI agent posing as a Muslim extremist. In addition Goldberg attempted to incite an terrorist attack on one of the ‘Draw the Prophet Mohammed’ events staged by Zionist Pamela Geller.

It worked. Two Muslim men attempted an attack at the exhibition and were killed by police. This of course played nicely into the Zionist media’s narratives – which ultimately seeks to inflame the West against Islam to keep us embroiled in the Middle East on behalf of Israel.

In addition, these desert wars help to weaken Western homelands as masses of Muslim, Arab and African migrants are displaced away from Israel’s environs to the West, where Israel is even officially stationed in Greece aiding the invasion:
