I want to take a break from heavy topics and talk about streaming gadgets.
I have long loved Roku because it is well designed. My only complaint about their product ever is that the low-end option has a very weak remote signal and you can’t really use it if you’re more than a few feet away from the device.
Step it up a model, and it’s pretty much flawless.
However, I got a Chromecast a couple of years ago because they were on sale and they’re highly portable. I can take them on vacation or to the office or whatever.
They are also really well designed. It’s much easier to search for a video on a laptop or smartphone and cast is to Chromecast than it is to search using Roku. That’s pretty tedious.
You can cast to Roku too but it doesn’t work super well for me. Maybe the newer flagship models are better about this?
The one thing I dislike about Chromecast is it offers no security.
Tranny Makeup Tutorials? No Thanks!
I was in a hotel room trying to watch Narcos and someone kept overcasting with crazy YouTube videos.
I don’t know if Google has since fixed this issue, but the model I have is a pranksters’ paradise.
The downside to Chromecast is I must have a device to cast from. Whereas Roku works standalone.
The Winner is…
Still, since I mostly watch YouTube and Bitchute videos rather than TV, I think Chromecast wins for me.
What do you think?
Do you have these gadgets and prefer one over the other?
Is there anything else on the market that’s even better?
Someone told me last time I brought this up that even watching TV is old school clunky. Nowadays many people just watch on their laptop, tablet or phone. Is that you?
